Cyprus Officially the Republic of Cyprus is an Island country in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is the third- largest and third most populous island in the Mediterranean. Cyprus is surrounded by Turkey to the south, Syria and Lebanon to the west, Israel and the Gaza strip and Egypt to the north and Greece to the southeast.

Cost

International students coming to Cyprus for further education are expected to spend around 3500 EUR to 7500 EUR per year and it generally differs on the choice of course study. The average cost of living for international students is between 300 EUR to 650 EUR monthly. Students can either choose to stay at a university dormitory or off campus in a rented residential apartment.

Work eligibility:

With a student visa in Cyprus is not allowed to take up employment until 6 months after arrival in Cyprus. After regularly attending university for 6 months students can work up to 20 hours a week. International students can work as petrol-station attendants, car wash attendants, fast-food delivery drivers and care givers.
After graduating from Cypriot university, one can apply for a work visa. In order to acquire a work visa, a student must exit Cyprus at least for 60 days. However, before leaving Cyprus one needs to have a contract with a Cypriot based business firm and apply on behalf of an applicant with all the required documents. Once approved by the Ministry of Labor an applicant receives a work permit and with this work permit can apply at the embassy of Cyprus in his/her own home country. If approved, an applicant can enter Cyprus with a work permit and will be issued a temporary residence permit for one year and it can be renewed every year for five years. After five years one can apply for a permanent residence permit.
