TOEFL
The test of English as a foreign Language (TOEFL) is registered trademark of Educational Testing Services (ETS) and is administrated globally .it is a standardized test to measure the English Language ability of non native Speaker intending to study in English Speaking Countries. The test is accepted by many English Speaking countries academic Institutions .Please note that PBT (paper based Test) TOEFL is no longer available in Nepal.
Formats and Content
- Internet –based Test
It is introduced in late 2005 and this format (IBT) has progressively replaced the computer –based test (CBT) and paper based test (PBT), however, paper –based testing is still operating in selected areas.
The four –hour test consists of four sections –Reading, listening, speaking and writing and each measures the basic language skills (while some tasks require integrating multiple skills) .All tasks four on language used in an academic, higher education environment. A test taker is allowed to take notes during the TOEFL IBT test and the test cannot be taken more than once in every 3 days.
